Synopsis
Using satire to confront the country’s enduring racial divides, Drawing Across Lines of Colour delves into the creative art worlds of a group of South African artists from diverse backgrounds. Through intimate and thought-provoking conversations, the documentary explores how the main characters of the film use their art as a weapon – whether through poetry, illustration, comedy or painting – to critique the legacy of apartheid, and reflect on present-day inequalities. Yet, how can you challenge a narrative when you are an integral part of it yourself?
